Installed MSI R5770 Hawk but PC shows ATI Radeon HD 3200

I got a new MSI R5770 HAWK video card. I then started the installation process in which I installed all the software and everything was alright. But once I finished with the installation process through the ATI Catalyst manager I then clicked on the View log. And after that something strange occurred. When I clicked on the view log it just showed ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics. So I have a doubt that did I make any mistake or is there something wrong with the card. Please help me on this issue.

I think that looking at your question I believe maybe the HD3200 is the on-board graphics. I think that you need to do something to get the most out of this GPU. Do you have a monitor that throws the HDMI on the card. But I think that you haven’t done anything wrong. The problem would be that there must be something wrong in the installation process. That might have gone wrong and hence it shows that it is ATI Radeon HD 3200.

Yes even I feel that the HD3200 is integrated and not related to MSI R5770 HAWK. So that is the reason why the 5770 is not detected by the system. So have you check in the device manager .If not then check the device manager to see if is listed there or not. You can also check with also with AIDA64 at display, GPU page. This will help you to see if the MSI R5770 Hawk is properly installed or not. But I feel that this is not a major issue that you should be concerned of.

I think that there must be some issue in the process of installation of the new MSI R5770 Hawk. I think something might have went wrong in that process. So for this what you need to do is uninstall the MSI R5770 Hawk first. Then once you uninstall it you need to re-install the same using the same procedure that you have followed earlier. Once you done with it I am sure this problem won’t arise again. I feel that there should be such issue that it displays ATI Radeon HD 3200 and instead you have installed MSI R5770 Hawk.

I agree with the solution that is being provided earlier. I feel that you should reinstall the card and see if the problem still persists. If the problem still occurs and it still shows ATI Radeon HD 3200 then I feel that there must be something wrong with the graphic card that you have purchased. So if such is the situation then you need to replace the card and get a new .I am quite sure that you will get a new card immediately and will fix your problem.

Thanks for the replies. I had a look at all the solutions. Also I tried the process of un installation and the re installation process. But all those didn’t work for me. Then I tried the other solution to see if it works or not. In my system’s device manager under the display adapter it shows both the ATI Radeon HD3200 Graphics and ATI Radeon HD5700 Series. So I think that that it is alright and there are no issues with it now. I would like you to thank again for your solutions.
