Technically, the architecture of the new graphics chips Radeon HD 6800 is very close to the unified architecture introduced with the Radeon HD 5000. AMD has mainly reviewed the configuration of its SIMD units, which are always arranged in two blocks each connected to a unit of rasterization. AMD took the opportunity to modify somewhat of its graphics drivers in particular AI settings and found a setting focusing on quality of texture. It is no doubt a good card for high end gaming and graphics editing.
