    ATI Radeon 4350 512 MB

    Can anyone help?

I just reinstalled my operating system (XP Home Edition) and am having problems with my ATI Radeon 4350 video card.

    1) I went to AMD's website and downloaded the most recent drivers.
BUT I get only part of the installatin before an error message. I don't know why it's not downloading right.

    2) My monitor doesn't work meaning after restarting the computer, the monitor is black. BUT my HDMI connection to my TV works.

    Here are my computer specs:

    Dell Dimension E521
    AMD Athlon 64 processor
    Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE chipset
    Windows XP Home Edition OS

Any help at all would be very appreciated. I've been trying to figure this out for the last 4 hours. No luck.

First let me know about the error which is appearing while you are performing then installation of the Graphic Driver. It might be possible some process might be blocking the installation of the driver or it could be possibly the virus which can cause the same. So it is better to discuss the error which you are getting and i will help you with the solution for same.

When the install gets to this status: " ATI Catalyst Install Manager"

    I get this error:

"Application Install: install package failure "

But then everything else looks like it installs ok.

I have heard that OEMs like DELL have their customised updates. So I would recommend you to just check the DELL site for latest driver upgrade, before posting. Sometimes Catalyst driver from AMD site may not help really on the branded machines like the ones that you have. One thing you can do is run the installer, but choose the custom option where the install path is "C:/Program Files/ATI Technologies" delete the "Technologies" and continue with the installation.
