When it comes to graphics accelerator, one thing that always bothered me is the lack of reference to say what we might call the video card "mainstream" because - thanks to the marketing of AMD and Nvidia - we all know what's more bão best (and expensive) market, leaving our creative minds to figure out what would be a good compromise between price and performance, which throws us many times in the well of souls filled with old and new models of full five-digit numbers and packages of rough-looking monsters, warriors, full of tips and scantily-clad maidens of sheet metal.

These two competitors had to adapt and move to the end of this year, just optimized products. Keeping the same architecture, and various optimizations are only really at program. Moreover if Nvidia there was room for better with the difficult beginnings of the GTX400, AMD things were more difficult, with an architecture well enough optimized. For this, we had to revise several aspects in architecture as the transition to VLIW4, Stream the Cores and other characteristics.

If you are a gamer or an enthusiasts making faces and twist the nose, the fact is that 3D graphics acceleration for games today is a very small market - some say up to 5% - compared to the universe of PC users who use their PCs in other types of applications, particularly the processing of images and videos in high definition. AMD itself in a sense already embraced this cause with the Strategy Vision , now fueled with technology Eyespeed
