Compare ATI Radeon HD 5770 and GeForce GTX 260

I am thinking of getting new graphic card for my system. I am having Asus mother board and the processor that I am using is AMD, but need know which will be better graphic card in accordance with this combination. I think that ATI Radeon HD 5770 is the best graphic card that will suit the combination I am having but my brother is forcing me to buy GeForce GTX 260 graphic card. We are fighting on this issue and decided to resolve the issue by asking on this site. So I need to know which is better to have ATI Radeon HD 5770 or GeForce GTX 260.

According to me you should go for ATI Radeon HD 5770. As the cooler of the Radeon HD 5770 up to the size of which is identical with the 5870, we expect a similar low noise. The level of 5870 is not fully achieved. The 5770 is indeed quite low, but the fan is his buzz and noise in the air cooler to hear from, if you otherwise quiet components begins. In the desktop operating fan speed, the 35% which is significantly faster than the 21% for the 5870th Under load, such as in a 3D game speed increases in a continuous operation at up to 50%. This makes it a bit noisy, but is still very pleasant and is not to describe as loud.

The reference model of the ATI Radeon HD 5770 has a connection as mentioned twice Dual-Link DVI, HDMI and even DisplayPort once. There is no analog TV-output is no more. In addition, the Radeon HD 5770 will of course operate in parallel with other 5770, two CrossFire connectors are available. Since the maximum power consumption is well below 150 watts, comes the Radeon HD 5770 as the 4770 with a 6-pin power connector for the power supply. This is a little hidden places, that is not top of the card, but in one of the rear "air intake".

The GeForce GTX 260 is similar to the GeForce GTX 280 as a graphics card the other. The only external difference is the power connections. Instead of an eight-pin to six pin takes the GTX 260 "only" two six-pin. The current requirement is a maximum of 236 to 183 watts. Reason: Instead of 240 shader units as the GTX 280 has the GTX 260 only 192nd In addition, the frequencies were slightly reduced and evaporated, the memory interface of 512-bit width to 448 bits wide. Despite nominally less power to hold the fan against the GTX 280 not returned. Both cooling system in turn audible area - that has made the 8800-generation better.
