Monitor's display goes off after few minutes but the power is ON

    Hello Everyone,
I need your help. My IBM monitor's display goes off after few minutes but the power remains still on, CPU power is still there. Only thing is that display on the monitor is completely not there.
I unplugged the cable which supplies power to the monitor for some time and when i connect it again after 15 minutes or so, display comes back, but again after few minutes it goes off completely. The more such repetitions (unplugging and plugging the cable), lesser the duration of display is there.

Monitor even flickers at certain interval.

I unplugged the cable of monitor which connects to CPU, and i switched on the monitor, the message "No signal, the cable is unplugged" is not getting displayed. I feel that the problem is not with the CPU (video Cards, etc).

    Please Help me.

Can you tell us how old is the monitor? I would suggest buying a new monitor would be the only option left to you. However you can check if the monitor is under warranty then you can replace it or either send it for RMA. Or take it to a normal TV repair shop and tell them about the problem and they will solve this issue, but you will have to bear some cost for it.

Thanks Appy10 for taking out time to suggest me.
I bought this monitor 4 years back.
I just wanted to know if monitor or my CPU is having problem. I want to make sure before i take it to the repair shop otherwise they always charge us higher than necessary. Most of them cheat the customers since we are not aware of which parts are damaged. They name all sort of components they have replaced where we have no way of finding them.

If the damage seems way high, i will buy the new one.
