I am using windows 7 with the Intel core2 duo as the processor, and my monitor is of 23" and i am confused to use a 1gb graphics card or the 512 MB graphics card. I love to play games and i want the best quality of visuals so please help me out that which one will be better for me. I am in a big confusion whether to use the 512 MB or 1 GB can anyone help me out of this.

I guess it is not a great that you have to be so tensed about it , but before answering you i need some of the detailed information regarding your system configuration. Since both the cards are compatible since you are using the core to duo processor and i think that as the large memory serves us a lot and also with great speed so i will suggest you to go with it instead of the 512 mb you use 1gb it will prove more handy to you.

As mentioned by you that you are using the 23 inc monitor, it is the best one and it has great pixels depending on the company, so you are fond of playing video games the i will prefer you to go with the 1 gb graphic card and then you may get best n quality out put which you will feel and which is necessary while playing video games. But it also depends on what kind of configuration your system has that must be compatible with the 1gb graphics card

I have gone through your problem If you compare both the cards i will suggest you that the 1G graphics card will be the best for you if you have the settings of 1920 x 1200 or 1920 x 1080 . I also want to know that what kind of games you are playing and what are the made up of because different games need different system configuration. But still i will prefer you to check out with both the cards and see to it that which one serves you the best so according to it make the possible changes.

I have gone through your case and it seems to me that at 1680 x 1050and below that is not a good thing to view, I will suggest you to use the 1GB card that will speed up your performance and you will be able to play all games. Probably you will come to know difference between 1GB and 512MB, at 1680 x 1050 or below that .

It does not matter what size the Monitor is. 1GB RAM GPU is far better than a 512MB GPU.You just have to make sure the PSU can run it.You have to select a video card with a less powerful GPU, just because it has 1GB RAM instead of 512MB. The faster GPU, with 512MB, will almost always be better than a slower GPU with 1GB. In other words, focus on getting the most power GPU that fits your budget first, then decide if you can also afford the 1GB version of it.
