2GB and 1536MB versions of the GTX 460

I am looking forward to add up 2GB and 1536MB versions of the GTX 460. I had seen the card and I had found that this has two DVI-DL, an HDMI and VGA. This probably explains the lack of DVI / VGA. So for the same I need help to decide about the same. What is cards performance while overclocking. Does the same card is better than older models. One more model ATI Radeon 5850 is suggested in this place.

The GeForce GTX 460 768 and especially the GeForce 1024 GTX 460 compete with the Radeon HD 5850 and even exceed it. Radeon HD 5830 is generally unable to stand up to the GeForce GTX 460 in Crysis except where the scores are very tight. The GeForce GTX 460 1024 MB offers an average of 74% (68% in the case of the 768MB version) performance of the GeForce GTX 480 at 1920x1200. Still, on average, all resolutions, the GeForce GTX 460 1024 MB is 8% faster.

The GeForce GTX 460 are clocked at 675 MHz for the core, 1,350 MHz for the Cuda Core and 900MHz chips for Samsung GDDR5 (Certified 1000 MHz) in my system. With the GF104 1 volt, we achieved 850 MHz for the core, 1,700 MHz for the stream processors and 1075 MHz for the memory. At these frequencies, the MSI GeForce GTX 460 works great and remains stable.

There is a gap between the Radeon HD 5770 and Radeon HD 5850 Radeon HD 5830 that is far from filled. Radeon HD 5830 suffers from a very bad price and the performance too. NVIDIA disclaims its mid-range in two variants. The GeForce GTX 460 768 MB using a GF100-300 with a 192 bit bus to arrive at a very aggressive first prize while the GeForce GTX 460 1024MB based on a GF104-325 coupled to a bus 256 bits for better performance.

Unlike ATI, NVIDIA has designed a new architecture to support DirectX 11. Given the scale of such development, it took many months before the GeForce GTX 470 and 480 based on the GF100 emerge. The range was then expanded with the GeForce GTX 465 equipped GF100 recycled mean by that with a limited number of active units. Because of their complexity and rates.

The GF104 is a derivative of the GF100, the flagship of the range Fermi. n the GF104, no longer appears as 2 Graphics Processing Clusters (GPC) and two logical Raster Engines. At first glance, it is therefore a half GF100. The GF104 is also losing two memory controllers. Looking blocks streaming multiprocessors, there are noticeable differences.

For only 50% of the price of a GeForce GTX 480, GeForce GTX 460 1024MB retains almost 75% of the flagship of the range! A notch below, the GeForce GTX 460 768 Mo shows 8% slower than the model 1024 MB but costs up to 17% cheaper. The cooling system and uses a copper base and a large radiator that are connected together by two heat pipes and cooled by a 80mm fan which is enough for cooling.
