5870 vs 460 sli for triple monitor set-up

I have a triple monitor. Now I am thinking of improving the performance of the triple monitor. How can I do it? What is going to help me, 2 x 460 in SLI(Scalable Link Interface) or Radeon HD 5870 CFX(CrossFireX)? Both are going to cost me nearly the same. So, which will perform better? All the monitors that I am using are at 1680x1050. Please suggest.

I would suggest you to go for SLI GTX 460. It can easily outperform the Radeon HD 5870 CFX. If compared then SLI is around 25 percent better then GTX 480 in performance. Also if GTX 480 is compared to Radeon HD 5870 CFX, then GTX 480 is much faster. Well Radeon HD 5870 CFX is also much expensive then SLI GTX 460.

I guess you are talking about 1680x1050 resolution. The best possible solution for you is Radeon HD 5870 CFX. You can buy one right now and if you wish to buy at a cheaper rate then you can look for Ebay. You can wait for the detailed reviews of the GeForce GTX 460 SLI. Some reviews show 460 SLI combo was a hit at 2560x1600 in some games.

I do not know much about the Radeon HD 5870 CFX. The only thing that I know is that it is much more costlier when compared to others. The GTX 480 is just what I am happy with. When it is put in the SLI configurations, it is awesome. Some do not care about heat and power, they want performance and features. Multi-GPU 480 setups are just the best ones and can do things that other cards can not do right now.

So, I would wait for that. It might come out with some good things. I have some problem with sites. Why aren't more sites testing 3 monitor setups now? I have not seen many of the sites testing it. It would be really amazing to see what a video card can do at those resolutions on a given system.
