    GTX460 disappointment

Recently I have purchased the Gigabyte GTX460 1GB thinking that it will be compatible with the latest game that I want to play but I was really disappointed to know that after using this card my FPS is dropped to 25. First I thought that this might be a problem related to the drivers but I have checked the driver and other required things. The only game is working with this is Flatout Ultimate Carnage and all the other games like Dirt 2 and Portal are not working because FPS drops down automatically.

I have bought two of these marvels (the same, GTX 460 Golden Sample Gain ward home, 1024MB GDDR5) Tested in a HTPC to a power supply that "only" 480W Corsair (i3 530) and there is no problem, it turns the fire good. Finally I put the 2 in sli in my main machine (C2D E7600), which has a power supply of "only" Corsair 550w also and it also goes smoothly. I am totally satisfied with the performance I think the card you are having is not in a good condition.

I just give you some news when I received a refund from the Pix. I buy the same card in 2GB version for $ 20 more in CDIS. I received my new card yesterday, I plugged the card into my pc no sound everything was fine until the image is displayed on LED and my surprise, and I have white line on the screen. I told myself it was a driver problem, I installed the nvidia driver to 258.96 but nothing I have always these white lines and my screen is not recognized in 1920X1080 resolutions.

Only two weeks between the referral of the first card and the arrival of the new! Brief. You've got your card supplied with 6pin two pcie connectors necessary? Would you like the card before this one (However, go to ATI, Nvidia, it poses no problem, drivers are tolerant, as the opposite, it is catastrophic! Reinstall Windows almost obligatory). If the native resolution of your screen is not detected, then there is probably a concern for driver and one more thing what version of windows you are using.

I went to nvidia 7600GS card in the GTX 460. I use Windows 7 32Bit. The nvidia control panel tells me the following message: You utility not currently connected to your Desktop GPU Nvidia. I heard that some people have installed Windows 7 64Bit Utimate and that this type of problem was resolved, I think that is the only thing is remaining for trying.

    Re: GTX460 disappointment

I play in 1920x1200, the rest of the config: q6600 3825mhz, 4GB ram, gtx 260. I wanted a GTX 470 but disappointed by the heats and the consolation, but the GTX 460 GS GLH is very driven to o / c and is close to the GTX 470 without any c is lacking. So what will be the better choice? I play a cod, mho, crysis 2, 2033 metro. If anyone has any related suggestion than let me know.

Maybe a repair at their cost and resale, any ways thank you for your help. It reassures me a little that I am not the only one having this problem. I will see what I am going to buy. I will sell my 4800 and CPU socket 939 and my ram DDR1 2 1GB. Never seen processor die like this if you can provide a better solution then let me know about that.

Well I have a personal preference for ati, a friend had a problem the floor with the 460 after exchange. I would not but on paper it's pretty convincing. User must order on ldlc site for cg (a bit cheaper than mat.net) and as reliable as their site and a true comparison has a discount. If a GTX 460 OC looks to be a very good choice. I hope you have got the thing that I am trying to convey.
