    Palit sonic GTX 260 Vmod

Palit has a new variant of the GTX 260 with 216 SP. Sonic The cooling system incorporates a fairly well known since it is present on the 4870 GS Gainward example. The card operates two fans thermo regulated . Palit shows the performance of 9% up from the original model due to the higher frequency of the Core. Please explain more.

The tests are made with Intel Core i7- 965th , 3x2Gb Corsair Dominator 1600MHz 8-8- 8-24 - 2T, Motherboard Asus Rampage II Gene. After a complete overview of each of these maps , we enter the heart of the matter . Here is the menu that awaits you at Driverheaven that performs this test:While a reference model sees its GPU clocked at 576 MHz and its processing units to 1242 MHz and 1000 MHz memory , map listing 625 / 1348 / 1100 MHz with a gain of about 8 to 10% .

I tested the Palit GTX260 Sonic which we had touched a few words at this news. The card was tested on games and synthetic workbenches , with opponents for the 9800GTX + , the GTX260 216SP , the GTX285 and HD4870 1GB . The menu also overclocking with a very interesting result as a basis for GTX260 is going to 576/1242/999 to 625/1350/1100 Mhz Palit Sonic model factory overclocked , Guru3D , and could reach the final 718 / 1548/1303 MHz for the core / shader / memory. The card in response never exceeded 68 ° C which is an excellent result. No doubt that with such a card , like what is done with the HD4870, Palit will be very happy among the players .

Re: Palit sonic GTX 260 Vmod

The cooling system of the house GTX 260 Goes Like Hell is a real treat for the ears. Almost inaudible at rest with two 80mm fans automatically adjusted to 30 % (1240 rpm ), it is just out with a full load to 41 % (2140 rpm ). It must be said that at rest , the frequencies of 650/1400/1200 MHz fall for the core / shader / memory 300/600/100 MHz ( 400/800/300 MHz few seconds after applying 3D) . Result, the temperature remains at 43 ° idle , like the GTX 260 +, but at a lower noise level . On load, the cooler made by Gainward expresses its full potential with 3 ° C lower than her sister and especially a much lower noise (between DC10 and glider, take your pick).

Re: Palit sonic GTX 260 Vmod

I like testing, we took those made by our colleague Benchmark Reviews who could get their hands on a Sonic Palit GTX 260 + . Gainward is a subsidiary of Palit , one can expect that the first consumer level is substantially identical to that of the second , or at least only slightly higher because of its higher frequencies (650/1400 / 1200 MHz for the GLH 625/1348/1100 MHz cons for Sonic ) . Thus, we find that the difference at rest is 10 W for model stock and a small burn Watt . So certainly the Gainward card does not consume less than the reference card Nvidia, But with such frequency dependent.

Re: Palit sonic GTX 260 Vmod

Palit informs us of the release of two high-end video cards . Equipped with the latest processor from Nvidia G80 , Geforce 8800GTX and 8800GTS are therefore compatible with DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0 . The cards take the place of two PCI slots . The cooling system is adopted exactly the same as Asus 8800GTX for that , we notice that in fact the board layout is also identical , all the two have certainly opt for the PCB recommended by Nvidia.
