ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Releases RSS Feed

I want to know about the AMD Catalyst Linux 7.11 Release Notes in depth. I have tried to take out the information but didn't find the proper results. I just want that information because of curiosity. Also the main thing I would like to ask is about the troubleshooting that is related about the An X Server Related Issues.!! I am hoping that some of you guys hanging out there would definitely help me but do it as soon as possible.!!

I saw a hand he advised to go through envyng. So I installed envyng-qt (I'm on kubuntu). I started on the program and it leaves me a list of drivers, except that there are red crosses everywhere, none are compatible and not recommended. For now I visibly ATI-8660 Oubuntu4 is activated it is marked as "not compatible". If your system locks up after you logout or When you try to switch to a virtual console this year Might Be instance of this bug . It Is Likely That the only problem for users with underinsured motorist year version of Xorg at least 7.0. Probably it only affects users of DVI.

Some ATI cards Have the Ability to Run in Three modes: UMA SIDEPORT, combination of gold or to. UMA mode Is That Which one in the video card Does not use ITS Dedicated memory, goal Rather worn and shares the system memory. On the Other Hand, Is The mode SIDEPORT Which one in the card uses ITS Own Dedicated memory. And finally, The Third Mode Is a combination of the previous modes in Which Both the card uses the system memory and Its Dedicated memory.

If your computer hangs, this settings WHERE 'may be the solution lies. If your computer hangs, try using UMA Either by Itself combination of gold or to. Howeve, if you choose the combination, make the sour That iz at least one UMA 128MB. In my case, I Have 128MB and 128MB UMA SIDEPORT. If I choose "any less for UMA, It Does not work. This is not year definetly attractive solution Since it compromised your systems performance. Hopefully, this Will Be Solved very soon. On Some systems, the BIOS screen May not offer a choice of gold UMA SIDEPORT. In this box, you can try Turning the Amount of RAM Dedicated to the video card down, from 64Mb to 128Mb for example.

It Seems fglrx Has a bug with all X800/X850 cards causing em to heat up Excessively Even WHEN NOT in 3D mode. Will this cause the Behaviour Cards' fans to full blast function is Continuously. There Is No Known fix as of 31/08/2005 or previous driver. Open source "radeon" driver Does not exhibit this problem. It happens too with Radeon X1800 GTO and Radeon X1900 GT.
Possible solution (at least using a Mobility Radeon X1600) :
    aticonfig - set-Powerstat = 1
