Hi there, we have been utilizing the fresh Enermax Revolution PSU through good wonderful on computers from three GTX280s. The PSU is little bit and 85%+ competent. The good European design at 1250W “http://enermax.de/en/products/power-...85.html” would approximately positively be to power your four 295s through 87%+ efficiency @230V. This is allows eight 8-pin PCI-E power connectors on modular cables. Testing an X58 Intel computer through three GTX280s at complete power, we have not at all saw a computer power draw of over 800W. It show to be tricky to reach complete rated power utilization in GPGPU applications.

Hello, I am not convinced if the two 30A rails for motherboard and central processing unit will convey sufficient power to the PCIe cable. Remember that those cards in entirety will draw up to 300W as of the PCIe cable! My suggestion (following the FASTRA suggestion) for a 4xGTX295 setup still is the Thermal take Tough Power 1500W. My computer is working for the last two weeks non-stop at complete load and there with no a single problem. |

Right mainboard is the key -- MSI K9A2 Platinum, including 4 PCI x16 slots through gap in amid to house double-fat cards. Power supply is other answer - it be supposed to 1250-1500 Watt unit through sufficient PCI-E connectors. box have to bear 8 cards, not 7 as commonly. And last, operating system have to either XP x32 or x64, and not windows Vista or Win 7. Driver compatibility is true problem.

I am not confident what type of mainboard you are utilizing (MSI?), however for the Asus M3A79-T there is a BIOS access for "GPP Slots Power Limit" that arrives through the default value of 25W. I may presume the similar choice exists on every boards through a 790FX chipset. The queries are:

This is may be a trouble. The specification page displays the GTX 295 has a utmost power to draw of 289W. The 6-pin PCI-E connector is graded to deliver 75W, the 8-pin connector is graded for 150W, and the PCI-E slot its own offers another 75W. If the slot is several to 25W, then the nearly all that can be supplied to the card is 250W. That said, I disbelief the GTX 295 in fact hits 289W in perform, however I don't know what occurs if you begin to bump up in opposition to this limit. |
