    Setting up dedicated Physx

    Hello guys,
    Recently, the choice of NVIDIA PhysX technology is on its increasingly confusing, and tend to make this technology even less attractive than it already was. I want to know about the PhysX technology, since I am having very less knowledge about it. So I am expecting some help about the setting up dedicated Physx.!! Hope that someone over there might have understood my problem and will help me soon.!!

    Since you don't know much about the Physx technology, I would like to tell the description of the PhysX processor. PhysX is associated with a developer's kit, a model of physics engine designed by NovodeX. The physics engine is already used by many developers, but there are others such as Havok (Half-Life 2). First a PPU contains no physics engine but primitives to optimize a physics engine. The primitives are the basic functions of specific job. There is a similarity with the 3D graphics cards. They do not contain 3D engine, but only specialized functions (primitives) that can accelerate 3D capabilities.

    A PPU is only useful for dynamic objects, that is to say, the objects to comply with the laws of Newtonian or Newtonian mechanics.     There are also some issues with the Physx technology. The first problem is that CPU , GPU and PPU will communicate synchronously. But as is the CPU which is the conductor, it will, as for graphics cards, rapid communication to the SSP. A PCI or PCI-Express x1 may be insufficient. The problem is that motherboards equipped with PCI-Express x4 are not legion. Asked whether the use of a PPU will relieve the CPU for more power for AI calculations nothing is less certain. Using the PPU will prompt developers to increase significantly the geometry, but even if the CPU no longer handles the calculations, it continues to manage the existence of objects and communication with dedicated processors. If successful, it will be low. So I doubt that this argument is really good. There are of course also the question of cost. If it takes more of a good graphics card, a good CPU, have a PPU, the bill will start to become heavy To play according to the latest standards in fashion.

    The GPU could process data as usual and 3D physics calculations simultaneously. It's a little of what is now offering Microsoft DirectX 11 and over Direct Compute. But with the arrival of Windows 7, this had changed. In fact, up until recently, it was possible to combine maps of both manufacturers. A situation that one would have thought fit for NVIDIA as it allowed him to sell the GeForce cards as complementary, to have PhysX, at a time or GPU are not recognized brand to offer a price / performance ratio explosive. You know, Nvidia has blocked for several generations of pilots the terrible combination of an ATI card with an Nvidia card dedicated to PhysX.     For PhysX, or is a software development kit (SDK) intended to perform complex physics calculations and is mainly focused on PC games. This technology gives a great realism to the games, representing more.     Before installing new drivers, you must uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers using the Windows Control Panel.
    • Open the Start menu> Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs
    • Search for "NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers"
    • Select Remove
    • Provides PhysX acceleration on all GeForce series 8, 9 and 200 with a minimum of 256 MB dedicated video memory.
    • Update run-time software ONLY for AGEIA PhysX processors in the case of new installations, you need to install an older version of PhysX system software.
    • Provides accelerated NVIDIA GeForce PhysX processor via CUDA 2.0 for versions 2.7.3, 2.7.2, 2.7.5, 2.8.0 and SDK 2.8.1
    • Includes the latest versions of software runtime PhysX SDK.
    • Allows you to modify the configuration of PhysX on the GPU from the panel NVIDIA display drivers.
