HD4200 and HD3450 Hybrid Crossfire performance

    Hi everybody,
I want to know about the hybrid crossfire performance of the HD4200 and HD3450. Since you guys explain in easy way, I thought that it would be helpful for me to post my doubt over here.!! So please provide me the proper detailed information about the HD4200 and HD3450 Hybrid Crossfire performance. I do hybrid crossfire with my msi and ati 4200, will I see some improvement with this configuration?? Fluid can play at 1024x768? or even more?? Can catalyst ultims and hybrid crossfire can be done in Windows 7..?? Help me as early as possible.

Re: HD4200 and HD3450 Hybrid Crossfire performance

For Hybrid Crosfire plates are required the lower end, as the onboard is 4200, would be with a HD 4450 or similar eye to the goal, because in the graph of the Hybrid combinations of ATI chipset is mentioned only 780 (HD3200) and HD3450 / 70. Before a much more appropriate x200/x450 Hybrid only a X650, it costs just over the x450 and pays better than x200/x450 Cross. (The x is changed according gen. VGA for 3, 4 or 5). I prefer a least 4770 for various reasons (price, consumption, performance) and I stay up there with the 5770 ... which was the choice I had to do at the time. For such resolutions, the 4770 has to be superfluous and x670 (less powerful). As for the CPU, is 30 and a few dollars difference in price for the safety of 1 nucleus. I think to go for the raffle should not the 550 unless you know you carry the winning number.

The following are the few things to consider :
    • The Hybrid Crossfire discard it, is for low-end cards.
    • If you're not going to play, do not bother to change the VGA, that you put is more than good. (You can even stay with you onboard) if you are going to play, consider buying a little over VGA.
    • If you are running on debian, Nvidia drivers is useless go better than the Ati. Tenel into account.

Re: HD4200 and HD3450 Hybrid Crossfire performance

AMD ATI (Mobility) Radeon HD 4200 graphics chip (shared memory) board (on the RS880M chipset). It is based on the HD 3400 graphics core and features the UVD video engine to decode 2 HD video (Avivo HD - is capable of decoding two HD streams simultaneously). Compared to the previous HD 3200, 4200 now supports DirectX 10.1 and has the video decoder UVD2. Hybrid CrossfireX is a new feature of the chipset, which allows to use the onboard HD 4200 graphics processor coupled with a dedicated graphics card (the Radeon HD 3400 series Mobilty) Crossfire in combination to increase performance (similar to GeForceBoost / hybrid-sli of Nvidia). Each image is rendered by different graphics core with this technique.

2 UVD video engine is able to decode HD videos (MPEG-2, H.264 and VC-1) in all stages and enables smooth playback of HD video (Blu-ray for example) with a relatively low use of processor (called Avivo HD). The HD 3200 has been the first graphics board that allows the playback of Blu-ray videos. The UVD 2 on the HD 4200 supports the decoding of two video streams and therefore fully supports the Blu-Ray. The heart of the HD 4200 graphics derived from the Mobility Radeon HD 3400 and is therefore compatible with DirectX 10.1. Due to the lack of graphics memory, the performance of the card is a bit lower than the HD 3400. Theoretically, the dedicated memory chips can be added directly to the chip, which would make a dedicated graphics card. Using Windows XP, the HD 3200 seems to have problems with drivers past and present, as there is no 2D acceleration. This leads to very slow interactions with the windows and scrolling (especially in Firefox, problem reported in various forums).

Re: HD4200 and HD3450 Hybrid Crossfire performance

The old games still like Doom 3 or Quake 4 should be just playable. Compared to the old graphics chips embedded (eg, GMA X3100), the HD 4200 is much faster. Even the graphics core Centrino 2 (GMA 4500M HD) is substantially slower than the HD 4200. Compared to the HD 3200 performance should be similar. Mobility Radeon HD 3470 combined with the HD3200 integrated graphics. The combination leads to a slight improvement in performance (depending on the support of the game Crossfire). The characteristics of the combination Hybrid X2 are identical to those of a simple HD 3470 (DirectX 10.1, Avivo video technology to decode HD video with the graphics processor, 55nm process.
