Graphics Card Newbie

Hi Guyzzz...

Please suggest if the following cards will work on my pc or not.

my pc specs is

Intel P4 3 Ghz Hyperthreading Enabled
Intel D101GGC mother board with pci x16 slot
1Gb DDR Ram
320 Gb HDD
400 W psu

Monitor 20.5" HP 2009F VGA, DVI-D input

Please let me know if the cards ATI RADEON 4670 or Geforce 9600GT will work on the above configuration.

Also I got a quote for the Cards as for ATI 4670 1GB DDR3 -- Rs4475/-
and For Geforce 512 MB DDR3 -- Rs 4400/-

If the cards work then which one should I choose.. again thanks for all your time...

or does the pc spec limited to pci x16 slot.. i mean do we have to check only the pci express slot and psu??

Here is a list of requirements for the ATI Radeon graphic cards of 4600 series which will help you:

• PCI Express based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard.
• 400 Watt or greater power supply (550 Watt for ATI CrossFireX technology in dual mode) is recommended.
• Certified power supplies are recommended.
• 1GB of system memory recommended
• Installation software requires CD-ROM drive
• DVD playback requires DVD drive
• Blu-ray playback requires Blu-ray drive and full 1080p display requires a 1080p-capable monitor
• To enable dual mode ATI CrossFireX technology, a second ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series graphics card, an ATI CrossFireX Ready motherboard and one ATI CrossFireX Bridge Interconnect cable (included) is required.

I would suggest you to go for the ATI RADEON 4670 incase you are going to play high-end graphics games.
