You will have to do the following settings on the graphics card in order to increase the performance of the graphic card. Go to Graphic properties and then select Manage 3D settings. Now Select the Triple Buffering and then select Force off. Now select Anistropic filtering and then select force off. Now select Vertical sync and then select Force off. Now apply the settings and check the performance of the graphic card.

I did all of that and it did improve by 200, it became 4700. But aren't 9800gt supposed to have like 10k scores? If it helps, when i did the benchmark, cpu tests 1 and 2 had like 0 fps.

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

Normally the after doing the settings the performance of the graphic card improves but as you have said that it is not improving up to the mark, try checking if the graphic card is getting too hot. The performance of the graphic card degrades if it gets too hot.

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

Using GPU-Z, my card goes up to 40C when idle, and goes up to 48-50C when playing. But i really think that its my cpu that has problems, coz it gets 0 fps during cpu tests 1 and 2 of 3dMark06 but i dont exactly know what. Thanks for your time btw.

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

hey....dont worry about the almost zero frames in CPU test, cos in very gud systems i have seen it going 7-8 frames only..
but a score of 4700 is really not upto the mark...it shud crack at least 7500..
8500 is wat we can xpect
this is cos ur processor and RAM are the bottleneck
but i wudnt xpect 10000 from this system.....

Really? thank for the info dude.
I'm new to these things and what does bottleneck really mean?

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

no offence....but first of all u need to upgrade ur CPU if u can
then tell me wat make ur 9800GT is....EVGA, XFX, i mean...wat brand

then try runing the test at default settings....at 1280x1024 resolution
not at 1440x900.....cos the scores u hear always are from default settings

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

lol. none taken. I would love to do that, but im a little short in money as of now. I am planning to upgrade but i really dont have the money. when i did the benchmark, it was on 1280X1024 but the resolution im using for windows is 1440X900. If i upgrade my cpu, do i have to change my motherboard too?

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

Brands like xfx, evga, sapphire are all better than palit, visiontek etc....
first of all i thought it was 9800GTX, not GT
    then ur RAM is 2GB....
make sure u run the benchmark test on default settings...no AA, AF etc..

and wen u change ur processor, u dont necessarily hav to change the motherboard
just make sure it is compatible with it

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

well, its too late to choose those brands coz i already have the card.lol
so its probably my processor right? I really wanna change it, when i have the money. and my ram too, upgrade it to maybe like 4gb. Where can i find the list?

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

u can choose any dual core if u focus purely n gaming and entertainment
if anything office related, u may opt for quad core

moreover....m not saying u have a bad card...its just that wat u have heard is the score 10k+ is cracked by GTX version...not GT, and that too by brands mentioned by me

then again...did u run the benchmark at everything default??
    here is the list

Graphic Card Ranking List for Nvidia and ATI

    hey...wat happened??
    u didnt like it??

    Re: 9800gt low benchmark

Im still kinda busythough, ill look for processors this coming weekend, and ill run the benchmark again by then. Yeah, 10k is too big of a score for my card, but 4500 is too low too. I just hope nothing is wrong with my pc, besides my hardware being dated. Thanks for the list btw. Did like what?
