Which is better Dell 3007WFP or 3008WFP?

I have desktop computer with configuration: Mac Pro Quad 2.66Ghz Xeon w/ ATI 4870 (Apple)+Nvidia 7300GT, 8G RAM, 24 TB HDD, Apple 30" Cinema HD, Dell 2407WFP. Now i am planning to buy a 30" LCD and I have seen Dell 3008WFP and my heart is on it buy. But had also Dell 3007WFP, so i am confused which one to buy?? What is difference between them?? Please help me out to take correct discussion in buying new LCD??

The major difference between DELL 3007WFP and 3008WFP,is that the 3008 have a built-in processor while the 3007 does not have any built-in processor.Another differences are:
1) The DELL 3007WPF have faster response time due to the lack of the post-processing, but you can only have 1 dual-link DVI port.
2) The DELL 3008WPF does have a lot more ports compare to DELL 3007 and just about everything. But they have bit slower response time.
Then also i would suggest you to go with DELL 3008WFP, if cost is not your concern otherwise you can go for DELL 3007WFP.

I got the 3008WFP few days back and it's awesome. The only really differences between 3007 and 3008, is that the DELL 3008WFP has a scaler in it, so it can accept any other resolution inputs also, but whereas DELL 3007 (or the Apple) has no scaler in it, so it cannot accept other inputs. This would only matters if you are planning on plugging other things into it. But as if you want to use on your desktop then i would suggest you to buy DELL 3007WFP, because 3008 is recommended for DVD player and all.

Recently i got the news that ,DELL is suggesting to use 3007 instead of 3008. I think it looks like Dell's on and off again relationship with its top-end 3008WFP monitor. The previous 3007WFP model is considered now, if they want avoid "extended lead times" (apparently on the order of 4-5 weeks). And also given the $750 cost difference, that may not actually be such a bad idea. So i would suggest you to buy DELL 3007WFP only. It cost will also not make you concern. Hope you get solution from this.

My knowledge about DELL products says that DELL3008WFP has a built in scaler, but that has an error in it, which is why it is problematic. DELL 3008WFP automatically 'scales' all the content it will receive, over each and every port, even if the native 2560x1600 resolution content is sent. This issue artificially inflates the response time. This can be only reason to go for the 3007WFP-HC (note the HC - it's MUCH nicer than the non-HC panel).

My review on both of them(i.e 3007 and 3008) is, 3008 is only worth to spend more money if you're want to use the extra inputs or the scaler. If you are only going to connect via DVI, the extra inputs are of no use. If you don't intend to game, you're better off using the GPU to scale rather than the scaler in the monitor. So I think the question would be, do you plan to connect anything other than the MBP to your monitor, and do you game? If the answer to both is yes , then buy 3008 and it is no, then save yours $600 and get the 3007.
