Remove the video card that you have installed. Also remove the drivers installed for that software. Then install the updated version of the driver and then install your video card. Once it gets detected then try to change the display settings. Hope that re-installation works for you. Also make sure that you are installing the correct and updated driver for your video card.

I think that you might have not configured your card properly. Try to change the refresh rates to the maximum. Many times it happens that you get the error message when the refresh rate are not set to the maximum. So, according to me changing the refresh rate to the highest will sort out your issue.

I also think that you might have installed the card improperly. I am using the same card and I can change my display settings by going to the "GeForce FX 5200 tab". So I would like to suggest you to uninstall the card and try to install it again. You can use the manual for proper installing. Hope that reinstalling solves your issue.

If you are having the Internet Connection, follow the steps for installing the latest driver for your video card :

    1. Right click on "My Computer" icon placed on the desktop.
    2. Click on the Manage option.
    3. Then click the Device Manager. In device manager you will see the drivers installed for the video card.
    4. Right click on that driver and select the option Update.
    5. Then click the option "This time only". Then select the internet option to search the appropriate driver for the card.
    6. The OS will download the latest version needed for your card.

I think installing the new driver will sort out your problem.
