Power Supply suggestions

i am in need of good power supply , price tag around 2500 rupees or close

the machine is asus p5n73am intel dual core

at present the western digital hard disk is dead waiting to be replaced


( hope it gets replaced or new one arrives before christmas or new year at the maximum )

dual core 2.5 ghz

2 gb ram

160 gb western digital hard disk(?)

moserbaer liteon dvd writer

os could be windows 7 enterprise or rc( almost)

or linux ubuntu/suse/mandriva ( the latest )


make a wise decision

i need to add more fans if an issue arises like over heat

please advice

According to your configuration buy any 480W smps power supply that will be more than enough for you. May be it will come around the range of Rs 1600 -2600 in any computer hardware shop around you. You should also change your hard disk. I will suggest you go for 320 GB hard disk, it cost around Rs 4000.

You can purchase the Power Safe Power Supply 500W Gold SMPS, which will roughly cost you around some Rs. 2,200. There is also CoolerMaster RS460-PCARA3 460W power supply that costs around Rs. 2,500. Altough these prices may vary depending upon the location.
