    Having 1900 x 1200 resolution problem on Windows 7

I have a Dell 2407 WFP monitor along with Windows 7 been installed on it. Now the problem is that i'm unable to get the 1900 x 1200 resolution been working on my Dell 2407 WFP monitor. So, i would like to know that why i'm having 1900 x 1200 resolution problem on Windows 7? Any one has any idea about it? The highest I could get is 1024 x 768 which is not sufficient. While the resolution is displayed in the settings it shows that i need to change the refresh rate to 60 Hz and then try changing. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The HP LP2475 and the Dell U2410 are probably the best 1920x1200 IPS monitors for that price. There are no 1080p IPS monitors. Edit: There is one 1080p IPS monitor: the 23" NEC EA231WMi. For that you need to right click on your desktop and select "Screen resolution" then in the opened window select "Advanced Settings" at that point you should be able to change the refresh rate.

Well, it depends on how anal you are about fps. Have you tried to Update the graphics drivers from Windows Update? I have the same issue and at 1024x768, it's almost unusable it's so big. It doesn't have anything to do with the refresh rate, from what I can tell. I can't find any drivers for this monitor or any generics that will allow a reasonable resolution.

It's driven by an ATI 4850 graphics card. It works just fine with 1900 x 1200 resolution in Windows 7. Right now, it seems that faster cards that can drive monitors at somewhat higher resolution invariably are positioned in the gaming market. Video capabilities are advertised as well, but part of them are in the Windows drivers. I would suggest checking for new drivers for your graphics processor.
