MSI P43-C51 does not detects Palit 9500GT Graphic card

I am not that good in computer troubleshooting. Recently I bought a new graphic card - Palit 9500GT 1GB. But when I installed it on my motherboard, it is not detected at all. I am still getting the onboard graphics only. I wanted to install the graphic card for a computer game that I have. My motherboard is MSI P43-C51. I am using Windows XP Service Pack2.

This is a similar issue which I had to face. I was gifted an Nvidia 1GB graphic card. BUt when I plugged it on my MSI K9AGM4 motherboard it was not detected. I was then using AMD Athlon. But then I learnt that my MSI motherboard does not supports the graphic card. So I had to replace it to a suitable Nvidia graphic card.

Your Graphic card may also be damaged one or faulty. I was using Intel DQ45CB motherboard. I had purchased a brand new Palit 9600GT graphic card. I fixed it on the motherboard and booted the system, but I then realised the graphic card was not to be detected by my motherboard. My computer technician informed my that the graphic card was faulty and I got it replaced from the graphic card vendor.

Make sure that the graphic card is properly fixed into the socket on the motherboard. Remove the graphic card from the motherboard when the machine is switched off. Fix it back again making sure it is not loosely fixed and into the proper slot. Also you have to check whether your MSI motherboard supports AGP graphic card or the PCI express graphic card because the Palit 9600GT graphic card is a PCI express graphic card. Might be the necessary drivers for the graphic card are not present on the motherboard. So install those missing drivers if any.
