install failure on geforce graphic card

trying to install a card for a friend she has a Compaq Presario Sr1311NX.
trying to install a Geforce card nVidia 256 MB DDR 8X AGP Video Graphics Card PC TV/DVI
is this teh wrong card?/
here what I have done install card turn system on it started to boot then blank screne with message disk failure press enter, I do hit enter and nothing.
I asked a guy at a computer store he said I might not have enough hard drive room is this right? what am I doing wrong?

Disk Failure error message does not Mean Your Graphics card installation has failed , if you get the Error Message then indeed the installation of card was Succesful ,and as for disk Failure Error message you Can Check Below Topics

there are 2 open pci ports I did order a pci card but it wouldn't boot did some looking into this and found out that its a agp and goes in a black port ( seen an install on utube on the compaq presario) . I put this new one (Apg) in the black port made sure it was in good.
on the pci card there was a manaul but this other one Agp it looked to be just a sheet. neither manual/sheet had a trouble shoot.
On AGP card
-I installed card power off
-turned power
-system booted seen windows then black screen reading disk failure press enter
-pressed enter button and nothing just black screen with curser

this is a new install no other card was in it monitor connecting went into the back side of the computer by the plug in. At the time of install I did have the monitor cabble plugged into the new card as manual started.
I did buy these off ebay could these be bad, or is the computer guy at office max right I do not have enough hard drive memory. the kid does have alot of junk of his computer.

I should add that it states to power it up and it will prompt to install drivers off the Cd I have tried cd in it at start up and waiting for black scress inserrt cd but never get pass the the black screen
any help I would appreciate it

The problem is that windows won't find a driver, and the included driver disk won't load nor will a direct download of the driver from the graphics card company. again when i reset it in recovery mode n restart, it gets back to old settings. I cannot use those special effects at all. As for the psu, most of the time they are underrated and i'm not that concerned. if that was the problem, likely i'd be seeing some errors at the pc level, not in loading software.
