Samsung Monitor Function Screen goes sideways

Hi,
I have a 17" Flat Samsung monitor. I was just adjusting the brightness and contrast of the monitor. When press the Menu button on the monitor the Menu shifted sideways to the screen. I do not how to move the menu from there. Is this any hard ware issue., because on the other hand the monitor is working fine. There is no problem related to the display. I had checked it by playing movies and games. Only the menu is giving me a doubt. Is this a major problem. Any suggestion really appreciated. Thanks anyways.

That is not a major problem. If you entire screen was shifted sideways then you have to ensure the drivers and firmware upgrade. The monitor has inbuilt memory which stores up the function setting. If the memory is malfunctioned or if the monitor is very old then this problem comes up. In many cases nothing happens when you try to keep on pressing the menu button for adjusting the monitor settings. So just upgrade the firmware from the official site.

Here are some steps by which you can calibrate your monitor. Calibration fixes up the display issue in most of the monitor. First check the screen resolution. Select the high resolution till you can see smaller text and then restore back to original. Check out that your monitor is running under 24 bit mode. This you can found in Desktop properties. Before calibrating let your monitor to warm up for 15 to 30 minutes. Adjust the color, brightness and contrast to check the functionality of monitor.

Try to press CTRL + ALT and arrow keys to navigate the menu. It this does not work then you can do nothing in that. Properly check all the columns in the Menu which reflects the position of box. It found then it is due to manipulating the settings. Otherwise there is not solution for this. The menu software is not related to Windows. Therefore we cannot edit it. It is a factory software which remains in the small memory of monitor. Try a latest firmware upgrade also.
