Can any one suggest a good viedo card. My primary purpose will be watching movies, twice in a month play games.

I need two outputs one for the tv (or projector or lcd) and other for the monitor. cards i have in mind:

9400gt --2
HD 4350--1
HD 3450--3

Will 8400GS also support dual display.

I dont like to frequently change things, i need things to work fine once configured.

budget 2k only.

Gainward HD 4870 is good option with DUAL display video else HD 3450 is also good card ...

You can connect 8400 GS with two Monitors one with VGa Adapter and the other with DVI port using a DVI with DVI to VGA converter.

I had decided to go for HD4350 , comes within my budget 2200/- chennai price.

How does the 7.1 channel output works on HD 4350. My 7.1 onkyo doesnt have a HDMI input.

I have a LCD TV and a 7.1channel a/v amplifier.

How can i use the HDMI output from 4350 for audio and video.
