LCD Monitor won't turn on

My 17 inch samsung LCD Monitor won't turn on. When i push power button it display horizontal lines across screen. I've checked the wires and check if it was my computer but it is not related with computer. Whenever i disconnect everything, the power light would flashes for a second and then blank. What has happened and what is the solution?Can anyone help!!!

There might be an internal fuse, but chances are that as soon as you replace it, it will blow again. You could try a different power cord, but if it just doesn't turn on then it's probably dead. Nothing on your computer would keep your monitor from turning on, it might not get a signal, but it should turn on if it has power.

From your brief description of the problem, its sounds almost certainly like a power supply problem in the monitor. It's quite common for the back light power supply on those monitors to go bad. If you can even find one, you can probably replace it yourself.

Do you need to switch off the LCD monitor whenever you have finished using the computer? What happens if you leave it on all the time with the computer shut down? To solve the problem unplug it from power for about 30 mins or so and see what happens...
