YES THANX BRO ITS WORKING MY EMACHINE ACER MINI LAPTOP
i tried running the ac1ctl program on my laptop but it says run type error '13": Type Mismatched... what should i do?
As far as I know that any of the programs creates the runtime error 13 error when it is not able to get the needed file otherwise variable. It might be because of some problem in the program that you are trying to use otherwise it can also be because of the file corruption. I wish that you will get some idea from this and move to the solution accordingly.
How to use or install a1ctl sir??? please, help..
Can you please explain in details why you want to install a1ctl and in which laptop, what is its make or model? The fact is that a1ctl is a program which is able to control the fan speed of the Acer Aspire One netbooks, and do some useful other things. It was inspired by EEEctl, AsTray and some other programs available for the EEE PC series.

I don't have the file in the regedit. I have several, but none that start with FEE9B...is there another I can use?
I can email the prent screen. thnx.
thank you for responding...but I found my answer.
I had to goto run command, regit, then search for all files named Display1_DownScaling Supported, then double click and change the value from "0" to "1". then search for next. I had three of these files that had to be changed. After this, I reboot computer, and was able to see the selection for a higher resolution of 1152x864.
this allowed me to load PhotoShop CS3 on my Aspire One netbook.
I then connected to my bigscreen...and walla! wesome!
I've tried everything above and didn't find the downscaling keys.
I have an Acer Aspire One 522 with Radeon 6250 graphics.
Is that the same one as you have Tomblair?
I've tried the a1ctl but it's a no go on Windows 7 for me.
The only relevant displaykeys I can find is Display_detection_DEF and DisplayManager_Mapping_0
Help pleade, otherwise I've got to sell my brand new 522 for quite a loss!
I think that the Acer Aspire One 522 got the wrong screen on it and then was mis-labeled. I think that Acer make an inferior 522 and without testing it sold it on the streets. So, you could try to escalate this problems to acer support and see what can they do about same.
Ok, anyone with an acer aaspire one on Win 7 can forget about screen res settings and actl programs, they won;t fix the problem.
However there is a way, if your comfortable editing your register..
Go to Run command, type regedit and enter.
Once in here don;t mess around.
Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{FEE9B7B8-B684-444A-BB90-505CAF0F90E4}
Now in sub folder 0000 select entry display1 downscaling support and set it to 1 instead of 0.
Save your settings and exit.
Now goto your display adapters setting and you will be able to set screen res to what you want.
Enjoy, took me hours to find it
