How to increase video memory from 128 MB to 256 MB

I want to increase the video card memory. Basically I am on Windows Vista and like to play games and some photo editing work on my computer. Many a times problem arises where my computer hangs because of less memory. I quiet often get a message saying I am lacking memory and need to increase ir. So today I thought of to do the same. But I don't know how to increase the same. Can you help how to increase video memory from 128 MB to 256 MB?

Its your video memory and not your computer memory, right? It is not possible to increase the video memory any how. You need to upgrade your video card. I would suggest you to go for GeForce 8400M GT graphics card. It is better and recommended for photo editing work.

Video memory is reserved for your video card. If your graphics card is integrated into your motherboard, then it is impossible to replace it with another. Otherwise you can upgrade to your new graphics card with more memory. However if you are only concerned with computer hangup issue then increase your virtual memory and see if you still have the same problem.

This is the problem of system RAM limitation. You are lacking behind because of lesser ram. Install a new RAM stick and see if this happens. However If you still have the problem then upgrade to Radeon X700 Pro graphics card.
