LG announces 22-inch W2286L HDTV monitor combo

LG have announced their first LED combination TV and monitor, the W2286L, a 22-inch display with whopping 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The 20mm-thick widescreen display supports up to 1,680 x 1,050 resolution and has two HDMI inputs.

The 20,00,000:1 contrast ratio of this 20mm thick display gives it an upper hand over the others. The widescreen display supports a resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels. The display comes equipped with two HDMI ports and one DVI port which ensure hassle free connections to any portable video player.

This screen has almost all the good cards in hand:

Laptop users: go home, nothing to connect, the screen becomes immediately LG display. NetBook users will appreciate to take advantage of 22 inches, instead of 7 to 10 most often on their mini-computer.

Players: slab displays a definition of 1680 x 1050, and it is a 2 ms TN. This resolution does not fill the graphics card (as opposed to screens Full HF 16 / 6, which consume 30% of the GPU resources and more), games will therefore be more fluid, you can activate more graphics options 2 ms and provide in principle of a high level of responsiveness.

Design: the screen is absolutely gorgeous. The slab is extremely thin, hollow foot gives an appearance of lightness to the monitor.

The W2286L consumes approximately 40 percent less energy as compared to normal 22-inch displays. This feature makes the display a relatively eco-friendly device. The LG W2286L is set to arrive in Korea soon, with a 24-inch model planned later in 2009. Pricing is unclear; according to a rough Google translation of the press release, the 22-inch display will be 41 won; considering that’s a smudge over three cents, which doesn’t sound quite right.
