Windows Vista 64-bit is my OS. How do I know? Its on the sticker on my computer, so please remember that. I also can't play 32-bit only games, yes those exist and yes I have tried. So I start up a game like normal, but for some reason, it crashes the computer this time. So I start up again and Windows Help Center pops up telling me what to do. I follow those instructions it gives me to download the *new* drivers. It gives me a form with some drop down menus. So I put this in.
Graphic Cards> Desktops
ATI Radeon HD 4850
Vista x64
So now it gives me a download. It downloads, it extracts contents, it begins to install. But before anything installs, it says "The installer has determined that the OS running is not 64-bit and this installer is intended for 64-bit only. The setup has canceled" and then it closes with that. Note the beggining of this thread. Anyway, I go to yahoo answers to get some help. They give me a link to the drivers I need (Which later turned out to be the SAME one I downloaded to start with) and tells me to run a program and uninstall the *old* drivers and anything thats left of them. So I do. The guide consisted of many reboots and such as expected, but the outcome? Now I have NO drivers at all and the download he gave me, after following his instructions, did the SAME EXACT thing as before I asked him.
Here is the link to the question I asked and showing his answer:

Read what he told me but disregard my reply because that was before I knew what was going to happen. Anyway, read that, tell me WHY the installer doesn't recognize my OS and doesn't install. Tell me what to do. If anything, I want my old outdated drivers back so at least I can play some of my games. If possible, give me a new driver that will recognize my OS correctly and actually work. Or, tell me how to make the one I am using recognize my OS so IT will install.
Last note. My computer came with this, I didn't change the graphic card or anything, its all what the makers put in. Help.
