I would suggest you to go with ATi 4850 if you need hardcore gaming performance... It is costly though, it has value for money, you get what you pay for... |

If you want the Nvidia equivalent of the 4870 it would be the gtx 260 If you go for a gtx260 get the core 216 version if you can If you want even more future proofing and have a little extra space in your budget you could try and squeeze in a 4890 or a gtx275 Eventually you could crossfire/sli another one of these to keep up with modern games |

but Ajay i also posted this in tomshardware forum and they are saying that for my 1440x900 resolution radeon 4870 1 gb or gtx 260 core 216 is enough they told u dont need sli or crossfire for playing at this resolution but still should i choose gtx 275 or radeon 4890??? |

I think you could max out nearly all games at your resolution with a 4870 1 gb depending on your other parts. But if you have the budget for a 275 or 4890 if you ever did buy another later on you would have more power than a GTX 295 BTW between the 275 and the 4890 there isnt too much of a performance difference one wins in some games the other wins in other games. But personally I would get the 4890 (and I've always bought Nvidia) because It runs a little cooler (a bit noisier too) Last edited by ajay000222 : 17-06-2009 at 10:56 AM. |

I can't really help you with stores or anything mostly because I'm just about moving to India from Australia so I don't know any stores there except a couple online ones I've seen. But for parts I can help you: Disclaimer: This is a guide you to buy parts, since I'm not there it's not my fault if you buy the wrong parts. I would check with the ppl at the store if the parts will match or post your choices up here for other ppl to check (I'll probably be pretty busy moving for the next week) If you have the space in your budget (If you don't have space look below) the best thing to match up with your graphics card would be an Intel core i7 920. If you can wait you might want to wait till September because rumor says that intel will discontinue nearly all the core i7's and come out with a new line of processors. The thing is the parts for these might be expensive when they first come out but no one knows yet. And core i7 might be hard to find then but no one knows. oh well lets continue down. Really for the motherboard you have a lot of choices. Look for a motherboard with socket LGA1366. If you go for the nivida card look for a motherboard with SLI. If you go for the Ati card look for a motherboard with crossfire (so you can add another card in the future). Also make sure that the first two pci express 2.0 x16 slots both run at x16 (some motherboards will divide the bandwidth so that each slot get x8 each which isnt as good) These motherboards work best with Ram in multiples of 3. So look for 3gb or 6gb of ddr3 ram (It must be ddr3). Look for ram that is 1066mhz or 1333mhz (If you can afford the 1333mhz it is quicker but the difference won't be too big) If you do get anything higher than 3gb or ram you need to make sure that you get a 64-bit operating system. If you don't have 64-bit, your computer will only recognize about 3 gb of your ram. (32-bit can only recognize 4gb of ram but this also includes the 1 gb of ram in your graphics cards). 64-bit can have some compatibility problems with some drivers. (most programs can run in compatibility mode in a 64-bit OS) But all hardware must have a 64-bit driver. Most manafucturers have both 32 bit and 64 bit drivers but I'd check with your hardware. (motherboard, processor, ram, and graphics card shouldn't be a problem) If you added up all the costs for core i7 and found that it would be out of budget then you can go for an AMD Phenom II The Phenom II comes in dual-core, triple-core and quad core versions. I would get one of the Quad core versions (x4). Try an get one with socket AM3. Then get a socket AM3 motherboard and all my reccomendations for the core i7 help here too EXCEPT: dont buy the ram in multiples of three buy in multiples of 2 but still ddr3 ram. With both i would check that your ram is compatible with motherboard |

| Re: best graphic card for 1440x900(max graphics gameplay)
well yea i kinda predicted that cus in india parts are expensive as hell yea so u hav 2 choices now that i7 seems out of your budget 1. wait till intel releases their new lynnfield (that's the codename) processors in september that will replace i7 920 and also include models placed below it. then you can get the i7 920 equivalent or a little below to fit your budget. See the problem is the motherboards will be more rare and the cpu and board might get delayed coming to india. Also the motherboard could be more expensive when it first comes out or the same its hard to know. 2. get An AMD Phenom II, preferably x4, and connected Am3 motherboard (unless you get a am2+ Phenom II, make sure you check). This would probably be cheaper. Try and get an Am3 one. If you can't afford an am3 you can get an am2+ (am2+ motherboards are cheaper) |
