ATI HD3200 vs NVIDIA 8800 GTX

I want to replace my graphics card. I was using GeForce 6800 till now but it started giving performance issues. So I decided to buy ATI Radeon HD 3200. But my friend says NVIDIA 8800 GTX is better than HD 3200. Is this correct? I play a lot of games, surf a lot, chat with friends and many more. What is your opinion on this? Is my friend correct or should I go for HD 3200?

According to me they both are almost similar in characteristics. However since 8800 GTX is a T technology, you may experience it about 25% faster than the HD3200.

So in short I will recommend NVIDIA 8800 GTX over the ATI HD3200 simply because HD3200 may have some issues running at higher resolutions and displaying high detail textures.

It completely depends what games you play and on what size and resolution of a monitor. The HD3200 is an integrated-only GPU and powerful for integrated graphics. However it is not made for games like Crysis or Clear Sky. So you can try the later one. You can even try nVidia '9500M GT with Hybrid SLi'.

Although NVIDIA 8800 GTX is a very famous and recommended by high performance gamers due to its performance, it is still having a lot of problems. The benchmarks reports states that it third in the position. However HD3200 is far more better than this card.

8800GTX is leagues ahead comparable HD4850.
