Crossfire HD 4770

Hi,

i was planning to buy HD 4870 but then i saw new HD4770, which in Crossfire runs even faster than the HD4870 and sometimes even the HD4890! so i have decided to buy this card , but I have a question. I have PCI-E bus and what modes it will run in with dual cards at 16x speed. and my asus motherboard also supports crossfire but it gives weird information about crossfire that black 16x slot will only run at 8x speed. please help

Are you sure it is 8x by 8x ? If it is 16x by 4x get a 4890. The 16x by 4x will limit crossfire's performance. if you want to crossfire then p45 motherboard are best then p35. If you can do 8x by 8x a 4770 crossfire is not bad, but I think a 4890 is a better option.

I dont know about P35 motherboards. but P45 are the best for crossfire, but is it better to get HD 4890 instead of 4770. It is true that 2 HD 4770's in Crossfire is generally faster and cheaper than HD 4890. but for future purpose HD 4890 is best. because cant crossfire three HD 4770.
