Monitor Problem - monitor goes blank

I start up my PC everything looks fine, the setting on the screen run then the Windows logo scrolls through it's procedure, then all of a sudden my monitor goes blank and I cannot resolve the issue.
I've tried resetting the bios and I've even told to pull the internal battery to reset the Bios, this still doesn't help.

    What could be wrong???

    Hey!
Before this problem occured, did you change the screen's resolution? Might be that is screwing the display. Go to safe mode, can you go there? IF yes change the resolution to the minimum resolution available. Apply the changes and restart the computer. What happens? Post back if this isn't solving your problem, you will need to repair the Windows XP installation so keep the Windows XP Bootable CD handy. All the best.

Yes, there are numerous topics on the subject, but when anyone says they've tried what is suggested, everyone stops and the problem never gets resolved. This is probably why people keep making a new topic.

If somebody would give an answer that works, maybe people would quit making a new topic on the same subject.

Maybe instead of complaining, you could actually give some helpful advice?

Re: Monitor Problem - monitor goes blank

If you are using the integrated one then there must surely be a problem with you motherboard. Usually, if your desktop PC's monitor goes blank, i would immediately try to hook up my video card to another monitor.According to me there are 5 reasons, due to which your computer monitor goes blank.
    • Wetness
    • Faulty Graphics Card
    • Faulty RAM
    • Loose Connections
    • A Short Circuit In The Motherboard

If its a graphics card then i would recommend that you try another one on your pc. For that you need to make sure you do a mental check of the above points the next time your monitor goes blank, don't be too quick to declare your monitor as faulty.
