"The GPU making company is ready to enter the market a solution GTX 295, characterized by the presence of two GPUs, developed on a single PCB, in order to reduce costs"
The big competition that continues to have the segment of video cards has allowed end users to be able to now have in hand a card capable of meeting many of the most common requests with less than 150 euros. To be able to succeed in increasingly competitive market, the two companies have not only focused on the development of the GPU end in itself, but have also worked on the structure of the PCB.
Precisely in this perspective, NVIDIA intends to market as soon as a revised version of its flagship card, GeForce GTX 295 card based on the use of two GPUs on two PCBs GT200b different, moving both chips on a single PCB. From performance point of view there should be any difference, except that, according to the most informed, the operating frequency of pleadings should rise from the current 1000MHz to 1100MHz. NVIDIA lead both GPUs on a single PCB , as done by ATI cards with their family X2.
The first card with the new design should arrive in mid-May, the PCB of the new GTX 295 will be a longer than about 1.2 cm longer than the cards on the market today and will always be developed with a dual design slot. The price to the public, at least the first phase is expected to remain almost unchanged.
