Error Code 43 " when enabling crossfire on HD 4890

Hi,
Well it seems no matter what I do I cannot get crossfire to work. I don't know what is going on but anything above 8.11 will not work with crossfire. 8.12 and hotfix, 9.1 9.2 9.3 9.4 and 9.4 hotfix give me the error 43 .I'm running Windows Vista and my HD 4890 Atlantis video card driver will not load, As soon as I install CCC is disables the 4870 that isn't in the primary x16 slot. I feel like I've tried everything. but no change

I don't think the Code 43 solution is available. It is not in the latest ATI Catalyst Driver 9.4 notes anywhere and I don't think hotfixes are usually released to everyone until they are tested and proven to fix the problem and be reliable. That's how Microsoft does it and I would this ATI/AMD would do the same.

Amd has comes up With the Hotfix that fixes "Error Code 43 " when enabling crossfire and provided WHQL Catalyst drivers release for the ATI Radeon HD 4890 see here for more details http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...ErrorCode.aspx

Please note that Catalyst Hotfix only supports Windows 7 & Vista systems

This is how u fix the problem

Totally uninstall all ati drivers and software go into regedit software delete all ati in ther.

then just reboot and install the hotfix only and it does it.

this worked for me hope this helps
