hi, my GTX 280 getting really hot,i noticed my gpu's running at 110c have had to increase the gpu fans to 60oC to get them to roughly 70c.i have Cooler Master (VHCL61),I even tried flipping around my side fans so they sucked hot air out, still no help.So what can I do here? The card is completely unusable. |

What fan speed are you using to get 40°C at idle? |

| Re: GeForce GTX 280 overheating
the max gpu temperature for 280gtx is 105C so in furmark you rached maximum which is in my opinion quite dangerous. Have you tried few diferent vga drivers ? I heard some version caused with few ppl higher temperatures than other drivers. If you can easily change for another gtx maybe you should try before changing whole card cooling ? |

| Re: GeForce GTX 280 overheating
Temp should be ok as long it's under 110C. However, check so that the card is getting power from 2 separate 12v lines. Each 12v line is limited to 20 amps and this cards needs 40amps. You must use a 6-pin from line 1 and 8 pin from line 2 (example) and make sure the card does not share 12v from the motherboard! |
