Split screen on acer aspire 7720g

hi,
i have Acer Aspire 7720G on which the screen is split in two form,the two images (top and bottom) are identical and the graphic quality is poor.more, windows will not start, the computer rebooted indefinitely and I had to start in Safe mode to remove the driver for the graphics card (geforce 8600 gt) to solve this second problem. But by installing the latest official nvidia drivers it does not solve the problem of split screen, and new windows crashes at startup and the computer reboots. I also tried to connect an external display on the laptop, no desire to display the second screen, which makes me fear a hardware failure.

I believe this is a known Vista bug that is not yet fixed (unless SP1 will fix it). What happens is the Vista event service doesn't properly register the resume from standby event and so it never wakes the screen.

One fix is to enable 'Hybrid' sleep mode.

Get into desktop properties, settings and make sure the video adapter is set at 60Hz refresh rate... An OS repair may be needed. Does the booting screen display normally?

I got the split screen fixed, I have a toshiba 2410, with a nvidia geforce, I changed the bios settings for power, and screen wake on lan, I also finally got the nvidia driver settings done right in x86config. I am sure that the nvidia settings were the real problem.
