Need help with new video card

I do not have much control over my hardware, but it has gradually gone up for me that my two POV Geforce 8600gt 1GB are not very useful.

So now I am looking for new graphics card, but seems there are many to choose from. So it excludes the little ATI's 4870x2 and Geforce GTX 280.

Have looked at the Geforce 9800 GTX+. But is it worth? Or Geforce GTS 250? Or ATI 4870?

Some serious proposals. Have read various "reviews" and is now completely cockeyed and really not much wiser. And it must be used for most games.

I would choose ATI4870, gfx card for the money. There is little difference between the card and the corresponding costing a little more... few fps in question.

Totally agree. ATI are hard to ignore when we see price versus performance. 1GB version will cost just under 1600, - so if you can 'push' the last dog out, it must be something!

I have 4870 1gig. It is the best deal for so long. Complete standard performance in every game so far at 1920x1200. If it begins to pinch, there is the cross fire.
