Graphics card for linux and Windows

I come to work with Ubuntu live CD but when I made the installation and that I start on SD I get a screen "Out Of Range." I want to work with Linux and I resigned after three months of trying all sorts to buy another graphics card.

    What purchase do you recommend?

I am not technical enough to do that in linux, but I think you need another graphics card, out-of-range is that the signal sent by your linux graphics card is too large or not in the good range for your screen,

    What screen did you?

there should be a sort of safe mode in linux, is it that you are able to come inside?

Linux experts can surely help you

    Monitor: ViewSonic VX924
    Resolution: 1280x1024
    Work space: 1280x990
    Principal Monitor: Yes

I am able to boot into Live CD because I can change the view with F4. I then proceeded to the installation and reboot I get directly from the DD "Out Of Range." From there I have no option.

    Same problem with Ubuntu 7.04.

I come to realize that with my ViewSonic VX924 screen, just before the screen I press the button 2 to save my digital screen and then everything works.
