Graphics card and monitor not recognized under Linux

I have a few days ago received the following workstation:

HP XW8200 Intel XEON 3.6 GHz 64bit, 4GB DDR2 ECC RAM, nVidia FX 1400 graphics 128MByte VRAM Monitor HP L1955

I have Red Hat Linux WS3 in the 64bit version installed. In principle, everything went smoothly ... to the hardware detection of your monitor and graphics card. This is only a resolution of 800x600 and it will be possible only 8MByte memory detected.
A hardware incompatibility, I can rule out because the system just with this operating system is sold. We have the system from another vendor purchased at the Red Hat Linux just was not preinstalled.
If this is the lack of drivers? Who can help?
