Ubuntu Graphics card advice for dual screen?

Hello,

Ubuntero (8.04LTS) for nearly 1 year now, I'm working on an old rig, but with a ridiculous screen I like the dual screen configure on my pc (even windows) but I let other family members.
Considering the price of screens now I tell myself that I will well in dual screen on my ubuntu machine. I use the virtual desktop background but it is still not the same

What needs attention? it does it well? I recovered my good old Matrox G400 Dual on another machine? In nine it to baseline can I turn?

existing driver under linux, so once set up, if the driver supports the dual screen. generally on the good nvidia driver under Linux and NVIDIA.
I did not test the matrox or ati so I can not tell you ...
