Did you try resetting the bios ? Flash the bios of your graphics card, I think this is the only solution!

It is best if you contact XFX after registering the card since they will provide you with the best tech support and the proper BIOS for your card.

Trust me, use RivaTuner. BIOS flash on a GPU has a high fail rate that means bricking your card. And from where you are a RMA will take a long time.

The 8800GT tends to sound like a dieing dog @ 100% so with RivaTuner you can turn it down a little to maybe 90% to make it have less heat and noise.
