Disturbing horizontal bar moves from top to bottom on the screen

hello friends,

suddenly a horizontal bar of around 2 mm width appeared on my laptop screen.
I often use Internet.Is this any kind of a virus? I am protected with McAfee security.

How can it be removed? The bar is very disturbing since it runs over every windows and document I open.

Rather than a virus, it is more likely to be hardware failure .
An easy way to test is to boot with an alternative operating system such as a Linux Live CD. If the problem i.e."horizontal bar" still appears in Linux,
then it is a hardware failure for sure.

In that case, you'll need to contact the laptop mftr.'s tech support for repair/replacement.

There may be number of things behind disturbing appearance of horizontal bar. tn order to fix ,
You can try reseating the ribbon connector between the system board and the LCD.
You can also try hooking up your laptop to an external monitor to see if the LCD screen is cleared or still bar is prompting.

Check your video-card.There may be a thin scratch or crack in it, because of which a line of dead pixels are moving on your screen.

The best way to do is to check by replacing/fitting another video card and see whether the line of dead pixels still appears or not.
