    Changing graphics card

    Hello I have stuff like:

    Motherboard: MSI K9Nsli
    MSI GeForce NX 7600GT
Processor: AMD Dual Core 3800 + Overclock to 2.35 GHz

So here I would replace my graphics card by the: MSI GEFORCE 9800GT - PCI Express - 512 MB DDR3 - N9800GT-T2D512-OC
is it fully compatible with my motherboard ?

will i see any performance gains ?

Will be running 1280x1024 to bottom: All Call of duty, then the majority of games (excluding crysis).

    Thank you

Pci graphics card can be fixed on any port pci you can save it without problem. and if you invest 20 € more you have a Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 512 MB dual slot 140 €. There is that the Sapphire Radeon HD 4830 512 MB € 90 which is as powerful as the 9800 gt.

I would like to have your opinions on the expected performances as I stated in my 1st post thank you. The HD 4830 does not interest me

But these are 2 very good cards, enough for your use and much better than your 7600GT. If you prefer to stay with nVidia no worries (just a little more expensive and slightly less efficient, especially if you activate filters, that you will probably get 1280x1024)

Yes, actually i am a fan of nvidia. But the thing that puzzles me is that the frequency of the GPU and the memory of 4830 is lower than the 9800GT (overclock version).

    Re: Changing graphics card

You can not compare the frequencies for different GPU. It's like comparing the frequencies between Intel and AMD processors, it does not make sense.

GPUs do not have the same number of units of calculation (most numerous in the HD4830) and their architecture is different. Finally, the HD4830 is more finely etched and consumes a little less.
