S3 Graphics continues to refine its range of graphics cards, adding a second model in its latest generation, the Chrome 540 GTX.

This map is a Chrome 530 GT faster. The GPU from 625 to 800 MHz, and memory is 500 MHz GDDR2 850 MHz GDDR3. The memory bus remains the same however, with a width of 64 bits.

S3 adds however DisplayPort video output in addition to HDMI and DVI ports now traditional. The card adopts a format of classic coup, while the Chrome 530 GT is in low-profile.

It will therefore still entitled to the same features: HD video decoding, 3D acceleration DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.0, with minimum consumption. But nothing very special, with an active cooling, maps rather basic, that will not really threaten the competition with a rather high price: 70 dollars 540 GTX.

It would be nice if they came back well in the race. A competitor more is never too much for consumers.This would indeed be interesting to see tests indeed, especially compared to a HD4670 sold almost the same price as in-game use in home theater that looks to be rather the purpose of this map ... And what about encoding? is there a solution or type Badaboom ati converter?

Finally consumption level I think that the Radeon is a better choice,especially for those who lead is sure to never play (yes, they exist).I wonder who might want a map of that type there. It seems to me that apart from competitors, S3 is far behind. That said, I may be in error.

Cool, I also hope they will think of the customers, because I bought some time ago an ATI HD4850 and I but then terribly, because I have no software to run this I wonder in how long it will be tilt among video card manufacturers sell cards without powerful software or games to occupy customers. When you pay a graphics card to play is that you or that you plan to buy games, period. Some provide one or two games bundle but it's often blow the price of the card for not much, buy the games as much as you want yourself.The 40 mm fan on the mini-radiator, it's scary as far as noise, especially for a card that covers HTCP.
