Monitor losing color

My screen loses its color, the red disappears intermittent. I want to check if the graphics card or screen is missing. To do this, I have another screen available.

The computer has a graphics card ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 series. The current screen is a ViewSonic and I want to connect is a Samsung Syncmaster 750S.

I close the computer, I change my screen and I restart. There is current on the screen Syncmaster but no picture.

What am I doing wrong not to have a picture?

The 2 are CRTs?
If yes then it could be that it is your video card that has a problem.
Is it that you could try your Viewsonic on another pc?

Yes, there are 2 cathode. I have the screen but no other computer. I was hoping to connect the other screen, allowing users to work and see if the problem returns. (the problem is intermittent)

The computer should not recognize the other screen (plug & play)?

Yes, but check the resolution and refresh , try in the standards mode screen.

I do not understand ... when I change the screen before disconnecting the first screen, I put the minimum of 800 x 600 color and 16 bits.
