4870 1GB - XP 64 or Vista 64?

Soon my 4870 comes with 1GB and therefore I wanted to ask what operating system is best for driver support? Soon coming to the 9.1 drivers with a better Mutlicore support, but apparently only at selected DX10 games. Will there be such an optimization for XP or in the case XP 64? Will ATI cope up with Vista but in the best possible way? I play mostly newer games. Thank you.

vista -> because of DX10 support
regardless of any drivers.

Again: The DX9 driver is "multi-threaded" - regardless of operating system. (and long). Trial's x64 with Windows 7, which could be more interesting than for Vista or XP or greater.

In ATT, there is an attitude regarding the distribution of multi-threaded, I think under "advanced settings" (I'm not sure where exactly). There you can manually regulate the distribution. Have you made this experience whether there's a good setup there. Or should there be no better setting?
