First of all head over to ATI Tool and download ATi Tool. The size of the application is only 1.3Mb, so even dial up users don’t need to worry much. Even though the same says ATi, this tool works for Nvidia graphics card as well. So just follow these 5 steps and overclock your graphics card to extract the maximum performance from it:

    1) After installing ATi Tool, the first screen will be something like this
How to Extract the maximum juice from your Graphics Card

As you can see from the above pic, my default clocks are 600 and 900Mhz for Core and Memory respectively. Also note that the 58C and 42C in the bottom are my GPU Temps, and GPU ambient temps.

    2) First increase the clock speed by 25mhz and then click on Scan For Artifacts and let the tool run for 5mins, if you don’t see any artifacts then increase the clock speed by 10mhz and then again run the Artifacts tool. Keep on following this process till you see artifacts on the screen, then just decrease the clock speed by 5 MHz

    3) Now click on New and then save this profile with any name

    4) Now this overclock will remain only till you shutdown your PC, after that the graphics card will kick back to the default speed. To make your graphics card run at higher speeds as soon as it boots into Windows, click on settings, then from the drop down menu select Startup and then just set everything up as given in the screen shot below

    5) Now just fire up a game in which you are getting low frame rates and enjoy a nice & better gaming experience

ATITool 0.26 is available for download, after a relatively long gestation beta14 version. But this version is back in force, because this time the two graphics card, ATI / AMD and Nvidia are both supported by ATITool, which despite its name implies not all need. Also note that setting the fans just now be saved in a profile for the rest I'll let you see the changelog below.

The first thing to do, perhaps, is to ensure that all unnecessary software is disabled when you are gaming. Disconnect from the Internet, disable Firewalls and AntiVirus software. Unload any other programs you have loaded into memory and running in the background. All of them create system overheads which will detract from 3D performance.

    Thanks

that will happen on a lousy processor. but if you have a processor with lot of cores, and nice cache, it wont matter. you can try OC-ing the engine and memory clock of your graphics card, but you will find this noticeable only when you are using a black edition ATI gfx card.
