Video playback error

I have a strange problem: I open the files divx xvid and divx player only and not with vlc or BSPlayer or windows media player
while for the wmv files only open them with quicktime pl.
why?
I think obviously a problem of codecs

I installed the codecs divx, xvid, windows media player and black

I would like to delete all codecs or restoration of the original

I do not think a problem of codec, unless you're just trying with real or other format is not supported by VLC (rare).
I would give a look at the video card settings, and then to render the program in vlc for example try to change, from a directX GPL etc.. etc..

please help me to change the settings of vlc I can not find what you told me.
Also I have a ATI radeon mobility 9700 and I used the 7.9 catalyst drivers moddati to be used on mobility.
It may be the problem?
